Hi, as it's almost Xmas and the snow in Britain has trapped me at home so... Here's the repaint of Hawaii 5.0 (there weren't 4 previous versions but I'm a nostalgic :D)

Some comments: It didn't me so long after my repaint of Porto72 / Saburo Sakai Hawaiian Islands mod, just used the same textures tweaking them a bit. With all the respects for Oleg's team, hope you appreciate the huge difference between the two maps, the quality of the Porto72 mod is much higher. That map really deserved a great effort repainting it, the stock one not so much, but it has been lucky to inherit those textures :) I guess also it's clear that the retexturing is a small part only for having a good map, the allocation of textures in the map_T is absolutely critical and the work in the cities also. I haven't done so in any of the maps, in the Porto72 one only did some small changes in the map_T to have beaches of different colours and not to have live lava all around the archipielago. In the stock one... well having Porto72's one I didn't think it made sense.

- Please excuse me if I forget anyone else, it's completely unintentional.

Instructions to install:

- Delete previous folders of 00_whc_Retextured_Hawaii
- Copy the folder 00_whc_Retextured_Hawaii_5.0 into MODS folder.
- Add the lines in add_to_all_ini.txt to your MODS/Mapmods/maps/all.ini

If you want to use the missions you have already in these maps you have to change the 2nd line
of each .mis file from

MAP hawaii/load.ini

to:

MAP hawaii/whc_load.ini

I recommend the following mission by Fabianfred:

Some screenshots using that mission. Please appreciate the nice work by Fabianfred putting barrels near the ships to simulate oil spilled burning when destroyed.

Do do this, simply make a backup copy of your original hawaii/load.ini, then replace that by renaming the Whitecat load included in this download to load.ini.

I just took a nice spin in a fast jet over the entirety of the map and I liked it :)

It is difficult to get a boat running close to land. Learning how to make trains run anywhere gave me the idea. You have to reconfigure each and every waypoint.

I just came back to il2 after a long absence and am running BAT.
If I try to transfer my old mission from the stock Pearl map to your map it doesn't work because the scale is all wrong ( you cut down the original map).
Did you cut it down before or after you redid the map?
Was there any other Pearl maps which didn't alter the scale like yours... and have any links to them?
Or maybe you have my mission made on your map which i no longer have a copy of?
