Title: F-86 Zero-weight Pylons [4.09]

Posted this a couple of weeks ago, but so far only 30 dl's. Thought it should be more prominent.

Extract to your mods folder and it will reduce the weight of the droptank and bomb pylons on the F-86. Right now they have the default value of 150kg apiece, which will lead to much lower performance when you use droptanks, even after dropping them.

CY6.

Yes, thank you so much!

For those that are not aware, on the F-86, the "pylon" was part of the drop tank and not the wing. This kept the wing clean, but made the droptanks very expensive for what was after all supposed to be a disposable object. This contributed to the chronic shortage of droptanks that plagued F-86 operations during the Korean War, and this arrangement was never tried again. (I once had a thread that gave references for this fact, but it has since been removed).

But, Checkyersix is quite correct, the wing pylon should have NO mass as in reality it never existed!

+1
I heard about it too. Someone should connect it to droptank model. Maybe this can be made in IL-2 1956?

Just to clarify, do the pylons come off the plane in the game, or is it more a FM change to simulate the absence of pylons?

FM change only, not a visible removal of pylons  ;)
