Compatibility pack for my LOD fixes
« Reply #181 on: September 08, 2010, 10:49:25 AM »

Hi all,

I've finished my LOD fix compatibility pack for this Ju-87 pack (ver 0.90).

You can download the compatibility pack here:
http://koti.mbnet.fi/raukorpi/Ju-87_fixes.7z

This changes all LOD values so that you'll get bugless LODs when you use this together with my LOD fixes available here: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,5741.0.html
I've omitted LOD1 in some cases to make 3d edits visible further away where LOD0 is edited but LOD1 not.
Correct installation of this fix also removes all conflicts between these two mods like hook not found errors or wing guns not firing.
I've also changed Ju-87G-2 wingtip meshes so that bomb attachment point will no longer appear in damaged wing.

Installation instructions:
Option 1: (easy)
Just unpack all contents of my pack into mods folder and all should work OK. For nice LOD models you should also have my LOD fixes installed.
Option 2: (if you want to avoid duplicate files)
Rename Ju-87 folder 0_Ju-87 (or something other that loads before my LOD fixes), and unpack all files in my compatibility pack into that renamed folder replacing old files. For nice LOD models you should also have my LOD fixes installed.

Additional fix for disappearing BK-37 cannons:
Go to MODS/Weapons/3do/arms/Ju-87-BK37 and open Body.msh in that folder. Change 120 to 800 below [LOD] and save. Then your big BK-37 cannons won't disappear too early anymore.

I hope my fixes would be included in next version so that I wouldn't have to change all LODs again.

ABOUT JU87 G1 and G2 BK guns!!!

The missing texture isn't an error!

Infact the texture isn't missing!

If you see some photo of the G1/G2 you can see that the gun isn't painted into the underwing colours!

Also if you test into the weapons folder you can see that this gun have a skin!

To couple this situation I have reskinned it adding only the panel lines as faithfully as I can do!

If you like the idea you can get them there:

http://www.4shared.com/file/421z8mSj/bk37.html

Just unzip into Karabas-Barabas Weapons/3do/arms/Ju-87-BK37 folder and overwrite; you'll find 3 tga the modified ready for use (bk37) the original and the panel line so if you don't like my reskin you can revert if by a simple rename!

PS: Any comment 'll be welcomed!

I'm happy to have done somthing useful!

About the Birdman LOD fix take care that the old Karabas-Barabas G2 must be deleted/disabled because is included into the new pack and share the same plane folder of the G1 but a dedicate hier! (this technic of use same folder for the base model and different hier for different version is really useful!!!)

@Birdman

Great work with the LOD!

The engine LOD of the D3-D5 should be revisited because the engine disappear between 2nd to 4th LOD transition!

I'm waiting the final release of the JU87 pack to release the uncovered gear for all D-G version!

@Karabas-Barabas and Avimimus:

1) Any chance to rotate the mesh of the BK37 a little counterclockwise of about 1 pixel? I'm asking this because there some lines have a little distortion that avoid a full correct panel lining of the bottom and loading/ejection area of the gun!
2) I haven't uderstand if my suggestion of adding glider tow ability at the Stuka can be useful or not?

AT ALL

I whish you all the best!!!

The file "hier_G2.him" is in the same folder as the D-5.
I made a copy of "hier_D5.him", renamed "hier_G2.him" and I changed the calls to "msh" specific G-2 without forgetting to add the 20mm gun.
And now ... everything works!  :D

In French : le système "D" !  ;)

Sorry for the G-2 issue, I just forgot to copy four files into my pack. I have now fixed my download, so everyone please redownload. You may also have to delete browser cache because my Firefox downloaded old version until I cleared cache.

The gun work good , the flame are also ok on the barrel!

The skin of the gun isn't full alined with the pixel lines so if you look it you can notice that the skin is loaded a little (1 pixel) rotated to the right!

Rotate the loading of the skin 'll allow to a better fit of the panel lines!

Wait before reply , I'll upload a couple of screenshoot in the next couple of hours!

Got the latest files. All stukas flying, all weapons present and correct. In fact, I spent a while finding out that Birdmans LOD fixes stopped the gunpods from working. That's life I guess :D
