[OAW] Boeing B-29 Silverplate Atomic Bomber (v1.2)
« on: August 12, 2010, 03:18:39 AM »

INTRODUCING THE ORIGINAL BOEING B-29 SILVERPLATE MOD!

The Silver Plated Project - later abbreviated to simply Silverplate, was the program to modify the B-29 to be capable of being an atomic platform; the most notable the Enola Gay and Bockscar for the first atomic strikes in history.
This modification project resulted in the removal of all bar the rear gun stations, each plane was set up to carry either type of device, the Gun-Fission type (Little Boy); and the Implosion type (Fat Man) - either Little Boy type in the forward bay or Fat Man type in the rear.

What is changed in this version compared to the old one at AAA? Just latest cockpits by Ranwers, or is there something else?

The only issues I have with this great mod are compatibility issue with Plutonium Maximum Effects Mod V1 and disappearing CF and tail at too close distance.
I hope someone makes a version of classfile 72DCDDF4D2AD25E8 that would be compatible with Plutonium Maximum Effects. Now we can't use Santobr great effects together with all other great effects in Plutonium pack because of that one classfile.

Just the cockpit. Because someone deleted my thread... I have had to repost the mod; the only way to get it was to download it in a pack otherwise.

Souhirvio, read this thread and it should bring you up to speed http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,6785.0.html

Advise you to read all topics about Modding in this site, If you are as new as you say you probably just put the folder to MOD folder and that is it. Inside the Mainfolder you down loaded it is 2 folders called Mods and Paintshemes. Inside the mod folder the actually file you wants. And if you not have the skinfolder for the AC you need to paste paintsheme folder in your main gamefolder so it goes IL2  Sturmovik\Paintschemes\Skins. And you probably need to add text to air.ini in
MODS\STD\maddox\il2\objects\air

EDIT: Oh my bad english made you think i did not know about the new pit, Cirx. I can see why, but anyway thx cirx for your work, the new pit is essential for me to even fly it. The He-111 pit make that plane so wrong  ;D

This one DOES contain the latest Ranwers and Wolfighter cockpit. (this one: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,7114.0.html ) . I adapted the classes and structures of the folders to it, also it contains a possible improvement in directional control for all flyable B-29's, by Twister. :)

It would be nice if there was a readme so a guy would know what to add to the air ini, weapons ru,plane ru files or did I miss it somewhere?

No need for that... Just replace the old B-29 silverplate Mod with this package.
Place this new one into the MODS folder, download and use the latest "Buttons" file ...
Buttons available here -http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,97.0.html
, and start your game. It´s a groooovy new Mod  8)
It also works with all the old B-29-Silverplate skins already available from Mission4Today website and
created by many skinners.

Screenshots posted below for your pleasure....

Is there a way to replace the ultra pack nuke explosion with that, it is rather disappointing.

This Nuke explosion comes with this Package , if you want another effect you can download and
try out Santobr nuke explosion effect (which is also on the downloads links posted on the first
post [ie. also on this SAS website] ).
Either one of these explosion effects is pretty cool considering the IL-2 game engine.
I personally like it very much.
