This superb job will work wonderfully in the Football Wars Central America map.  :D

One side had two of the exact model you have created

Can't recall which side at the moment it's in Beo's Football War thread.

Insane..... Never thought I'd see helicopters on moving ships someday in IL2, Lots of KTO SAR possibilities now.. Your team is pioneering helicopters in a frontier of IL2, and doing an amazing job of it.

can't wait for a ACTUAL HELI IN IL2

but small question, how da hell are we gonna fly this thig, like a lerch but no forward flight, or somethin

actually 2nd thought lerche model would wrk wonders, wth a stabilizer to limit movement, and thgen makin it easier to maneuver somehow

no. Its a completely new kind of flying. But due to this fact the AI wouldnt fly this...

Now we will get a SAR helicopter, maybe it's time to have a special 'rescue' target? I'm thinking of a recon target that gets completed when you land in that area.

That said, I'm amazed by the speed at which this project is coming to completion, my hat's off to you guys!

That can be done by setting a recon target, and enabling "landing", then you have to land there to pass the recon requirements.

Will not be possible to create AI versions of this models so at least they can fly straight at a given height? Will be cool for carrier guard helicopters.

Will this Helo actually get armament or something or is it for transport only? and: will we get the connect/detach function so we can tie the Jeep under the Sikorsky?

Yes, I will make some armed versions.

I think that the S-55 only can carry a pair of ammo boxes on sling and not a Willys Jeep of  2,293 lb (1040 kg). Only a few and modern helicopters can carry more than 1000 kg.

Specifications (H-19)

Empty weight: 4,795 lb (2,177 kg)
Loaded weight: 7,200 lb (3,266 kg)
Max takeoff weight: 7,900 lb (3,587 kg)

Apparently ground effect is modelled in this game, it was talked about in the ubi forums a long time ago according to my Air Racing friends.
