Mod-airplane = B-29 Silverplate " Enola Gay" 1945
« on: June 03, 2010, 08:38:05 PM »

These skins were specially created for the MOD Atomic-Bomber B-29 "Silverplate", which you can download from
this fine forum and AAA forum, and fly it.
You can also drop a "Little Boy" Atom-bomb if you which to kill any mice in your house.   ;D
These two skins may look almost alike but are very diferent in color and shading.
.
The "Enola Gay" is the B-29 Superfortress bomber that dropped the first atomic bomb, code-named "Little Boy", to be used in war,
by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) in the attack on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945, just before the end of World War II.
The B-29 was named after Enola Gay Tibbets, the mother of the pilot, Paul Tibbets.
The Enola Gay (B-29-45-MO, serial number 44-86292, victor number 82) was assigned to the USAAF's 393d Bombardment Squadron,
Heavy, 509th Composite Group. The bomber was one of 15 B-29s with the "Silverplate" modifications necessary to deliver atomic
weapons.

.
The Enola Gay was accompanied by two other B-29s, "Necessary Evil" which was used as a camera plane to photograph the explosion and
effects of the bomb and carry scientific observers, and "The Great Artiste" which was the blast measurement instrumentation aircraft.
These skins will be painted very soon also.
.
You can download this skin in a little while at Mission4Today http://mission4today.com/
In the special MOD section... Downloads 4 Mods › Skins › Aircraft Skins > B-29 Silverplate (folder)
http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&c=4

I hope you have a great flight in IL-2
Cheers

Thanks for the kind words and compliments....
also strange requests for having babies! LMAO!  :D AAAHAHAAHAHAAH! You guys are funny.
That is why I always enjoy your company hanging around this cool clubhouse.

If you will notice, these skins are diferent from the screenshot images I posted earlier during the week.
This final version is a bit more balanced in colors, shading and more detailed. Just look at the previous
skins of B-29 bombers and compare them to my skin. I think you will enjoy this one too. Its a very good
looking and sleek bomber to fly for mission in IL-2. I have been having some great flights with it.

At the present moment I have just finished the "BOCKSCAR" B-29 with 3 skins. One early version, one
with the paint-scheme which dropped the Fatman bomb on Nagasaki and a late 1959 version which is
very "rusty", dirty  and abandoned. That is what it looked like from a recent photograph I found on the
web. Imagine the mighty Bockscar  B-29 left to rot in some airplane graveyard!!?!?!? Good thing
some wise folk took it away from the scrapyard and cleaned it up and put it in a museum.
I will post this skin for you very soon.

Cheers
