« on: May 08, 2010, 07:36:17 AM »

only tested on UP2.0n, i can't guarantee they'll work on another version...

cool, they're pretty basic missions. for blue bridge, your target is trains.
for red bridge, i've just used some FMB objects as the bridge.
while we're on the subject, could someone explain to me why the searchlights don't work on this map? i've come across this problem before, and now realise that it must be something to do with the map itself. on another map, they work as usual, but on one or two, including now this one, they just don't want to work. anybody have any ideas?
i've tried messing with the DECLIN value of the map's load.ini, thinking that might have something to do with it, but it made no difference....
in the QMB missions i did, several have searchlights, but so far, for me, the lights just don't activate.... ???

ok, i've had a closer look, and maybe somebody could confirm this for me. using the Red quickStrike QMB mission; if you look at the mission in FMB, you'll see various searchlights around the harbour/airfield area, as well as Flak 88's on the harbor gates. now, if i go and fly the mission in QMB, the searchlights and AA guns have disappeared!!! this is obviously what's happening, instead of the searchlights not working, they aren't appearing in the mission!
MrO, I'll move this bit to Tech help soon, as it's probably another problem, but while we're here, maybe someone could just test and confirm for me, using the Red Strike mission as an example... ???
thanks in advance

here's a pic to illustrate better:

what's the exact error message, Mick? ???
you have the map installed fine?
you say you don't use a pack - like UP/HSFX?  if so, like i said, i've done them with UP2.0n - it might be an object problem....but that EXACT error message would be good to know... ;)
also, i'm going to move this section of the thread to a new one in Tech help soon, just as not to clutter up MrO's thread...

THX for helping Malone, I either get this message while loading :

Landscape'MrO_Tunis/load.ini' loading error or a direct return to desk at around 23% while loading objects ...

I don't think I have those Egypt objects installed in case MrO's map uses them ...

yeah, Mick...think its an object problem. in most of those missions i've also used several objects which only come with UP (moving infantry, etc...), but it sounds like a map-loading issue.
what is your entry in all.ini for the map?
also, does the map load in FMB for you? that's a good place to check for the specific error, if it's a missing texture...

My all.ini entry is : Tunisia(MrO)MrO_Tunis/load.ini

Nope the map doesn't load in the FMB, same error message about a landscape error ....

ok, Mick, load it in FMB again, then bring up the error console when it fails (Shift+Tab), and look for the error messages in the last 4 or 5 lines towards the end (bottom of the screen, white text)
let me know what the error says, if it's a missing texture, or what... ???
also, i'm moving this part of the thread soon to tech help, we'll continue from there.... ;)

Mick, it's a texture problem. You need to use the textures pack of MrO (link on the first post) or correct the paths in the load.ini (in my case for these files: NTL_Darwin_Small_Wood1.tga, NTL_Darwin_Small/NTL_Darwin_Small_Wood3.tga and NTL_Darwin_Small_AlteredBush6a.tga) if you already have these textures for another map.
