new install of DBW, mouse won't work

Just installed DBW on Il Sturmovik 1946, UP3.0RC4, but the mouse won't work. Starting with a clean Il Sturmovik 1946 I upgraded the patch and Mod, then I ran the game and it all worked. But after install of DBW the mouse quit on me. Checked conf.ini file and everything seems to be okay for mouse. Searched the questions and answers on this site but no luck finding a discussion. I am new to modding and just fumbling along.  Ideas?

Hi and welcome !

ALT + TAB until you select IL-2.
Release the keys. You are again in IL-2.
Now the mouse should work!
This is not a problem with IL-2. It's a Windows problem that does not properly gives focus!
