USMC Career Campaign (1943-1968)
« on: April 14, 2015, 10:18:52 AM »

This campaign is the culmination of my dream to experience the immersive story of an individuals complete career spanning the golden age of military aviation represented by IL-2 Sturmovick 1946 and its modification Dark Blue World 1.71. One of the unique aspects of this career campaign is the coordination between Mission Development and Map Editing to increase the historical accuracy and rich immersion of this representation the United States Marine Corp's war against first the Empire of Japan in World War Two, followed by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea during the Korean Conflict, and finally the communist forces of North Vietnam. This Career campaign is roughly 130 mission long and spans from 1943 to 1968.

There are Maps used in this campaign that I edited and some I completely created. While working on these maps I was also building most of the missions that involved them. A prime example is the Cape Gloucester Map, which I edited to add each historically significant hill and land feature of that battle. Another example is how I added Tacloban Airbase to Letye Island for the Battle to retake the Philippines. However, the biggest map project I completed is the KTO summer and winter maps included with DBW where map creation and mission and story development were used as simultaneous tools to create the most immersive, historical, and enjoyable IL-2 experience I could manage.

I hope you Enjoy!

Hello. First, let me congratulate you for the great work you have done by this campaign, revitalizing the long-standing but venerable version of the Il-2 DBW. It is really admirable effort to create a campaign of this nature. Unfortunately, there has been a problem for me: after completing the mission of C-47, the sim not charging the following mission, crashes, and I have to force quit the game. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance and congratulations again, Dixiecap.

You are missing something and are you in DBW or CUP.
Read what I wrote over at m4t when I rated this campaign.
I am surprised that you did not post a log

~Salute Dixiecapt!
As a former USMC fighter pilot (F-4's, A-4', F/A-18's) and the son of a Marine fighter pilot who served in the Pacific Theater (F6F-5N) and during the Korean War (F4U's), I think your efforts here are amazing.  I've flown only the first two missions and can't wait to have time for the remainder of the campaigns.  I'm especially interested in the Vietnam missions as I spent two tours in F-4's playing that "real game".
Thank you so much for this.  I for one truly appreciate what you have done.
Semper Fi!

You need to tell me the specific Mission and be more specific with what is happening.  It might be you are missing a Map.  the C-47 is used several times in the campaign.

Hello Dixiecapt,

And thanks a lot for your excellent work.  :D I have trouble with the ACS-missions - first they ran perfectly, but now they are freezing badly.  :-[  Could you help me please? I uploaded the log with ACS_02 mission here: https://www.mediafire.com/download/dmcadpd7qip8uw9/sturmolog.log

No, needs to be reworked.
ie it needs to be splitted into a WAW and a JTW part.
etc.  :-X
