I do know what you mean, 2 of my books are contradicting eachother about the "bulge". 1 says it was only needed for the Tallboy and Grand Slam. But it doesn't really matter as we don't (as far as I'm aware) have the 8,000 lb bomb anyway.
There may be reasons why the bombload is lower than it should be, game limitations etc. and I'm looking forward to an update for this excellent addition to the RAF arsenal.

Wow, what an incredible belly, 6000lbs, took me all along the Bessarabia AB to get it up. If it should carry 8000 or 12000lbs how should I take off without rushing into the runway fence???, omg. This plane deserves it to be up on IL-2, and in its best, please fix every issue, this is case sensitive. Great work, a formidable lady, Thanks to you

If it was a Mk.I special, it could carry a 22,000 lbs Grand Slam bomb!

OK, 22,000lbs? lbs are pounds? This is 10 metric tons, holy moly. Can we have it?

You have to remember a couple of things with the Mk.I Special. In order to carry the 22,000 lb grand Slam bomb, it had to have it's bomb bay doors removed, the under carriage strengthened and the nose and dorsal turrets removed. The huge drag and weight of the bomb reduced the Lancaster's ceiling. It was a rare aircraft with only 32 being built and didn't enter squadron service until March 1945.

Hi chaps.

I've been watching this thread for ages. Our squad does a lot of bombing missions, and with this beautiful bird it's just torture not being able to use the bombsight. I noticed, Rawners that you posted a shot of it fixed. Have I missed a patch that's out or something??

Thanking you in anticipation.

Wow, I didn't think fixing a bombsight graphic glitch would be that hard. Kind of pointless having a beautiful bomber if you can't see a target thru the glass, isn't it?

I'm not good a modding but I'm sure someone out there could fix it and post it, couldn't they?
