it all depends what you are talking about: The FILE , or the FOLDER THAT THE FILE IS IN.

the file is called 294ABC86A89FAEB4 , and it should be INSIDE another folder in your mods folder. This other folder can be named anything you like.

Where does it go with HSFX4.11 install?

i dont have HSFX (only UP2 and SASmodact) but don't HSFX ALSO have a Mods folder?

if so, put the Diff-FM folder 'inside' that mods folder (or make a Diff-FM folder if the file for it does not already have one and put it in your main mods folder) and you should be good to go.  or so i imagine.  drop that folder inside the mods folder just like you would a NEW aircraft folder and that should do it.

the question from Gaston was (may i translate): "when I download a plane with a seperate FM file, where does this FM file go?"
-> answer: into the planes folder within MODS.

Dietz in HSFX 4.11, you just go to root IL2 directory, make a newfolder, rename that to Mods
then stick the Diff_FM fiolder into the Mods folder. Atleast thats what I did.

One more possible cause is to have the "Advanced Engine Management" mod enabled not from JSGME, but (for whatever reason) from the mods folder.
If the AEM subfolder's name is alphabetically behind the DiffFM mod, the DiffFM mod will be disabled (classfile conflict).
The other way around, if AEM is alphabetically in front of the DiffFM mod or activated via JSGME and DiffFM mod is installed, the Advanced Engine Management won't work.

It's a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea.

In order to help out those few being affected by this issue, I did some preliminary merged version of AEM and DiffFM which can be found here:
http://www.filefront.com/17146530/AEM_with_DiffFM.zip or
http://www.mediafire.com/?cht0u6t5ys5u50g

Credits belong to the original creators of AEM/DiffFM respectively.

Best regards - Mike
