Here are a few images of recent changes to this WIP.

This is Tan Son Nhut airfield.  This superb detailing work was done by a fellow
community member Anatoli.

I've also been busy myself. This is a new version of Nah Trang.

And finally Saigon has been populated.

Here is the latest update, this is the complete package.

For anyone who followed the updates at AAA and has the May 28th update all you need is this.

http://www.4shared.com/file/nGhwXD_x/Saigon_Populated.html

This is just the map folder itself without the textures etc. which I uploaded yesterday at AAA.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. :)

WOW :) Pete,

Awesome populating.  ;D

You've definitely got a French colonial style thing happening there.

Saigon looks truly amazing.

A job well done.  ;) ;D 8)

Cheers Kirby

Glad to know your happy with the progress so far Kirby seeing as you set this project in motion.  It seems to have been a long time getting to this stage, hopefully things may move a little faster from now, although I wouldn't hold your breath waiting. ;)

The French look to the place is solely down to the superb French objects Canon produced for his Channel map, they are used here with his permission.  If you read this Joe, thank you very much, your work is much appreciated.  As is that of others I might add.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. :)

Could you point me to those beautifull skins , or is there a skin pack by any chance?

Can´t wait to fight the French colonial wars....

Hello Baco, just use the links to the WIP.  The second one is for those who already have the WIP from previous updates.  You can probably find most of the skins at M4T.  The A-26 are by Rudi_jaeger and the P-63 are from Zargos.  Not sure about the others.  Some time ago Anatoli posted me a link for the skins he's collected, if he's ok with it I'll post it for you, not sure when though, he tends to work away.

Don't look to closely at the map Checkyersix, you'll see all my imperfections.  Best viewed from a cockpit. ;)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Sorry to hear your having problems wharoldking, tried myself the clock starts at 90 and when finished if you click to download it goes back to the timer.  This is the first problem I've known about with 4Shared that is why I use it.  What sometimes has happenened to me with other sites is I've usually had to go back at some other time, or pay for the premium download.  I think these sites have busy periods where the free download gets shoved to the back of the queue, just try a different time of day and see if that helps.

The second file downloaded ok but it is smaller, just the map folder, unfortunately that is not much good it you haven't already got the full package which contains the textures.

The March download may not be any use I think I changed some of the textures after that update.

If trying a different time of day doesn't help I'll try and post some where else, I'm planning a few days away though so it may be a week or so, sorry.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Hello again everyone, here are a few images of recent work done during July on the map which I thought you may want to have a look at.

An attempt has been made to represent the navy yards and arsenal.
Unfortunately I have no decent images to go on of for this part of Saigon
so the build is my interpretation of what images I had available.

A sealpane landing area has been added close by.

Cat Bai seaplane base has been completely re-built after I managed to
find an image of it, the photograph was not very clear but did give the
layout.

I have also built the French Navy base at Ba Ngoi in Cam Rahn Bay.
Again no photographs were available, I only had brief discriptions from the web of where it was. The American facility used during the Vietnam war is situated across the bay.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.  ;D

My mouth is just watering at this whole idea of Vietnam. All the more reason why we need the A/B-26. But until then, just give Puff. Run Charlie, run!
