Just downloaded the 4.07 m to 1.71 dark blue world super pack and successfully extracted all of the 19 downloads to a copied il2 folder in my c: drive.
I was following the instructions from a youtube guide which explained the processes involving the "how to" guide on using the generic mod enabler and I followed the same instructions on how to use the il2 selector also.

All going great guns so far until i reached around 60% loaded on the grey dark blue world load screen and then the whole screen just disappeared and i was back to the il2 selector screen. I tried starting the dwb on the selector again but now nothing comes up and it wont even let me start the stock game now from the selector.

Is there anybody out there who could point me in the right direction because it well and truly feels like ive fallen at the last hurdle 

p.s im currently running on windows 8 but I was told that copying my il2 1946 into my c drive rather than (x86) would get around this problem
