Slovenia v1.37 - Updated on 8.3.2010

Hi all, me again :)

I've updated the map of my home country.

You have installed Zuti_Slovenia map v1.37.

Some of you already know this map, some will get to know it, some not, but for all, the map is covering complete Slovenia
and Istra + North Croatia, small part of South Austria and small part of East Italy.

More about map itself and thanks can be found in the included readMe file.

General notes:
- map is for IL2 v4.09,
- best in combination with perfect mode in IL2 graphical settings,
- winter version requires may-bugs textures (http://www.allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10025).
- if you want to use this map in your mod pack, please send me a message first (I can be found either on
UP (http://il2ultrapack.net46.net/) or SAS (http://specialaircraftservice.com/main/) forums.

Changes from v1.1:
- fixed/redone airports for AI functionality
- expanded/rearranges buildings on airports (more bomber hangars, cleaner RW paths...)
- denser populated Austria (rivers, roads, villages/cities)
- denser populated Hungary (rivers, roads, villages/cities)
- denser populated Italy (roads, villages/cities)
- denser populated Croatia (roads, villages/cities)
- Ogulin airport in Croatia was moved (with city itself) to a correct location

- new airport in Austria (Lienz)
- two new airports for Hungary (i shall not write those names again :))

- fixed problems with missing bridges
- added two more ini lines, i hope you don't mind :\ Slovenia_Summer and Slovenia_Winter. They use online density of
buildings and have empty airfields (only parking areas are there so mission creators know where AC park).

Changes from v1.2:
- more work on airports so that they are DCG ready (maps: Zuti_Slovenia_Summer/Winter and Zuti_Slovenia_Off_S/W.
Remaining two are primarily for DF and manual creation of coop missions,
- no more "crossing" runways on multi-runway airports,
- new airport added (Lavariano, Italy),
- fixed problems with bomb craters in water for winter maps,
- corrected height map,
- populated lower regions (<1000m) with random farms,
- updated ReadMe with new airport schemes for mission builders.

Changes from v1.21:
- additional work on airfields. Most of them were tested with TO of 8 Ju88 bombers armed with 2x1000lbs bombs.
Two airports do not support them: Bovec and Postojna. First one is just too small, second one is facing river
and planes "drown" :)
- removed sandbags from airfields
- corrected few geo specifics (rivers, mountains...)
- this version is included in UI 1.1 installer

Changes from v1.22:
- some more work on airfields
- corrected some minor map_t errors
- smaller statics for Slovenia_Summer/Winter maps. Decreased city density (same as on DF maps)
- this version is included in UI 1.1 patch installer

Changes from 1.23
- ALL airports were rechecked and reworked. All of them were tested with TO and Landings with eight (8) Ju88 bombers,
fuel 100%, 2x1000lbs bombs. You now have parking place for at least 17 planes up to small/medium bombers (up to Betty)
and with airfields with two airstrips up to 17 heavy bombers (say B29).
- some airports were also repositioned for clearance on TO procedures (Bovec, Graz, Ljubljana, Diva?a...)
- fixed FPS issues around Zagreb airspace. This was achieved by reducing smaller airfields near Zagreb but still
preserving their functionality
- re-textured Krk, Cres and Rab islands to be more like they really are (but not that real as I have no spare texture
slots)
- some minor changes on map_h were done too
- changes to in-game 2d map (cities are above roads and railways...)
- two more airports were made bombers friendly (Oto?ac and Nova Gradiška) so we can start bomber operations from SW
positions
- updated manual for this map. You can find everything you need explained there so please, do go through it. If only
with one eye, I don't mind ;)

Changes from 1.3:
- map_h redone around edges of the map. Now it is nice and smooth
- map_t redone around edges of the map. No annoying repeating patterns. Only one pattern now.
- cities/villages were completely redone with new, improved templates. Also, they were reduced in size and should
now be much more accurate. A lot of work went to this and I hope that there will not be much FPS problems. If Slovakia
is fluent on your rig then this one will posse no problems Wink For more details read INIs section in ReadMe.doc document
that comes with the map.
- added two new airports. One ground one (Risano) and the other water base (Tagliamento Esturay). Both in Italy.
- work has been done also on map_c for improved rivers. Some issues were also discovered and corrected.
- speaking of map_c: Venice area was completely redone as it was horribly off before :\
- missions that were created for v1.3 of the map should have no problems on this one.

Changes from 1.32
- map_t minor changes
- added some missing bridges
- rebuild actors for DSG users
- few issues here and there solved

Changes from 1.33
- removed invisible runway plates from airfields and introduced new runway processing through Zuti_AirfieldFriction mod.
This mod is also included with this map now. If you have MDS mod (moving dogfight mod), please disable 01_ZUTI_AirfieldsMod
mod by ranaming it to -01_ZUTI_AirfieldsMod.

Changes from 1.34
- included new version of ZUTI_AifrieldsFriction mod that is compatible with Fireballs CTO v5.3.3 mod. Please make
sure you delete old Airports friction mod, if you have it (01_ZUTI_AirfieldsMod folder under your MODS folder). More details
about this Airports Friction mod can be found under Mods/01_ZUTI_AirfieldsFrictionMod_v0.3/$ReadMe$.txt. Do read it.
- new map_r.tga file

Changes from 1.35
- redone Kranj, Sk. Loka, Zelezniki and Maribor cities
- roads/railways around Kranj, Ljubljana and Maribor were also updated
- Ljubljana-Polje airport was moved a bit to the north
- all big airports were updated with one more bomber hangar for dogfight missions (not all), all have increased fighter
planes hangars.
- recaptured airports with airfields friction mod
- winter maps now use WINTER camouflage setting
- all airports were cleaned (removed workshop objects, fuel tanks) so that mission makers can place their own in case they
will make missions with R/R/R capability that is dependant of those objects
- added more sparse settlements on the map so flying over "unpopulated" areas should be a bit less boring

Changes from 1.37
- fixed dispositioned bridges around Ljubljana

You need either MDS or Friction mod (comes with this map) to be able to use airports. If you have any problems, just ask ;)

This is on a related matter - but apparently you were able to fix the problem with craters appearing water and with airplanes crashing on 'hard' water in one of the versions of your excellent map. Do you still remember how it was done?

Apparently I have a similar problem on the Aleutians map and i'd like to fix it.

Indeed i remember :)

The problem is that the game was written that if you have winter camo set you have frozen water on the map. So, if you have fluid water and summer months/textures, you currently have to use summer camo. That way, no more craters on the water.

That's what I did.

sorry to chip in here, Zuti...agracier, I've done a lot of work on map_h for the Aleutians, fixing a lot of coastal height inconsistencies.
I'll be happy to send it to you if you like.  ;)

I am curious of what you thing. Which one is better. This Slovakia textured one or old one (I will for sure update city textures on the current map, just not sure of the remaining thing). It is not completely winter anymore, more like early spring, i think :)

Sorry for a maybe dumb question.
I've installed this excellent map and downloaded the QMB missions and saved them in MODS\QMB Pro v2.0\Missions\Quick (and obviously added Custom##=Zuti_Slovenia to the conf.ini).
While in FMB I can see the six Zuti_Slovenia maps and I can save a mission (eg. in the summer map), in the QMB Pro I get "Missing map or mission".
What's wrong? Have I something else to do?

Perhaps CirX will be able to help you more but, please post what you have included in conf.ini file under [QUICK] section. Zuti_Slovenia is not enough.

To Zuti: in my conf.ini there is "Custom34=Zuti_Slovenia". It is not enough?

To Gerax: everything in your explanation is clear except the name of the map you suggest - quote -
"The Maps Name "Zuti_Slovenia_" - endquote.
Is the final underscore suggesting that I have to put in the conf.ini all the six maps?

I've not seen anything like that before, but I'm always willing to learn more and see if it can be put to use.

Also on the new maps for QMB missions - I'm having the same problem that when i add the customxx=[map_name] that the missions just won't fly, even though in Zuti_Slovenia quick missions, I installed them to my other quick mission folder.

I just can't get this to work properly.

Airfield section = FRICTION mod. Those lines define areas with specefied friction. Alternative can also bi [AlternativeAirfield] section in mission file.

As for QMB. These are my conf.ini lines:
