I can explain u how to use the buggy buggy exporter script in MAX 7, should be the same in 9, first u have to install the Buggy Buggy (IL2 Exporter V2.52a.ms) to yourpath:\3dsmax7\scripts\startup, and the il2fb.bmp into the scripts folder.

After the installation you should be able to locate it under utilities, see the pic

or do you want to know how to use it???

What do you mean do I want to know how to use it? :D ofcourse I do....

I have installed it and it is there...

When I press export button and select model, whole lot of numbers popes out in listener...same as txt.msh file. But,it's not working in game. For example, mesh that I want to modify has 13kb (21 as txt msh)...file I get from 3ds has 32kb.

OK, I read you. The god thing is that the script is working, and you have a 3D model.  If you read the Il2 modelling bible until tomorrow, I will explain you how the rest works, don't worry.

Hi

What msh are you editing the blister? Remenber that you must include the LOD, Colllition etc. In Gmax that meshes dont appers has "dummy object" then im need editing by hand.

Try using the plugging for 3dmax  in a complete exported msh file (converted to 3ds with the LOD, Shadows, Collition boxes).

If not work  the pluggin in your 3dmax sendme a PM and im go to send you a tutorial showing how im export the models to msh (im think that its not the best method but works for me).

And Send me your exported msh file and im go to check what its wrong.

Wolfigter, if you have any tutorials on msh editing, then please post them here.  I think this is something we really need.

I think It would be a great idea, to have a tutorial to kick start newcomers.

I think two tutorials are needed, one who explains how to edit the 3D geometry in existing msh files, and one who explains how to make brand new objects for Il2.

I could make one about using the msh exporter, and the Buggy script, but I have a lot work at the moment, at my regular job.  I barely have time to do any modding but smaller changes to geometry
for Cirx.

But if you and me helps the newcomers here, it will be great.

NB. Wolfighter did you look at EnsignRo's cockpit, if not I can do it tonight

@Wolfighter

Im trying to reposition "Top.msh" that is in 109F4 cockpit folder.Like this:

When you import that mesh it is positioned in center (white)...red is where I want to move it (in top viewport)...I think it will change it's pivot point.
