Trading smoke mods from one mod to another
Corsario:
Hello, this is my first post here, I´ve started modding il2 only 2 days ago, so I´m really really newbie in this. I´ve downloaded plutonium mod, I like some effects from this mod, but I prefer the smoke and ricochet effect from Effects_mod_RPs3 3.0.1. Is there any way that I can mix both mods, kind of "frankestein" mod bits from one and bits from others?
I´ve seen great screen shots with fabulous mods, almost "real". I whould like to configure my game the same way, so probably I´ll be asking a lot of questions...basic questions to many, but a real headache to me. If you have any sugestions of mods I could use other then these two... to make the game the most realistic as possible, like "plane, sky, terrain textures, and sounds"... I whould apreciate it. Sorry for my poor English, it will improve with time :)
Many thx

hey corsario, and welcome to the magic world of modding!
stitching various mods together is actually fairly easy, but first, you want to know what you want to change. as for the ricochet, there is a mod for this here
http://www.mediafire.com/?3zm2ra8453dhlhn
just tell me what you would like to change and i can walk you through the rest (dont worry, i have about 30 different effects interchanged between plutonium and have yet to have a serious problem), so for once i can say i know what i am doing and mean it ;)

Thank you very much for your help, first of all I´ll tell you what computer i´m running, there could be some mods that will be too heavy for it, and later i´ll put some IL2 youtube videos to see if it´s possible to show how I´d like my il2 to be, a picture is better than a thousand words, and there are certainly hundreds of mods I´ve never heard about and that will improve IL2.

About what I´ve downloaded for IL2: I have:
- DBW 1.0 to 1.71 SuperPack
- Plutonium Universal Max Effects Mod
- Effects_Mod_RPs3.0.1
- Ricochet_4.10.1 (this tells me to copy it into a MODS folder, like so many mods , a big problem is that i don´t have a MODS folder...)
the only folders that I have to copy mods to are: #UP#, jsgmemods, #DBW and #DBW1916. Also have an .sfs files folder called SAS_DBW.
SAS~Malone:
hi Corsario
for DBW, the folder #DBW is the MODS folder.
depending on which version you want to mod, you need to put the mod into either that, or for UP version, the #UP folder, etc.
it has been done this way to make it easier to mod different versions in one game install, if using the Selector to start your game.
btw, i don't recognise this mod you mention, Effects_Mod_RPs3.0.1 - can you tell me where it is from?
hope this helps. :D
Corsario:
-thank you Malone, its very helpfull knowing that MODS folder is #DBW :D (by the way, are you the "Malone" they feed with someone that missbehaves in this forum? :P)
