How about "Mission Pro Combo" ?

I make Disable "Mission Pro Combo" in DBW JSGME.

Probably, enabling  "Mission Pro Combo" , some troublesome will be around mission date setting...

I have never had that mod enabled, but I just tired it to see if it made any difference.  No difference.

If we could get the game to accept the SAS AI, Engines, Hotkeys & Carriers Mod v2.5 I suspect we could resolve the problem, I cannot figure out why it stops my game running as soon as I drop it into my DBW folder, any thoughts ?

That is strange...
With SAS AI, Engines, Hotkeys & Carriers Mod v2.5 installing , DBW1.71 runs well in my environment.

Does some other MOD conflict to SAS AI, Engines, Hotkeys & Carriers Mod v2.5 ?

Please test simple and clean environment.
1. install DBW1.71
2. install SAS AI, Engines, Hotkeys & Carriers Mod v2.5
DBW will run or not?

Good , then...
3. install Ship Extentions 2.11
4. install Essex 1960 pack
How is it?

Good, then...
5. install F-4 PhantomII
6. install Carrier Take-off MOD 5.7.2.1

Western

I tried that before and it did not work, as soon as I drop the mod into the DBW folder the game will not start, but just to be sure I have just tried it again.

Using an absolutely clean version of the game, NO mods added, game runs fine, drop SAS AI, Engines, Hotkeys & Carriers Mod v2.5 into the DBW folder and the game will not load.

So it has to be something to do with that mod and a conflict with the basic game files, I wonder what is different between your version and  mine, I assume we downloaded them from the same places.

I'm using windows 7, is it something to do with that.

It runs fine in my copy of Windows 7, so that's not the problem.

Sorry but if SAS AI, Engines, Hotkeys & Carriers Mod v2.5 conflicts with a vanilla DBW1.7 and the majority of users have no problem, then we have to admit that one or the other is corrupt.

The easiest to deal with is SAS AI, Engines, Hotkeys & Carriers Mod v2.5. Download it again and install in a vanilla DBW and if the combination crashes or refuses to load DBW then I'm sorry but your DBW install may be corrupt.

I know you don't want to hear that, but it's beginning to look like it....

Cheers - Redfox

In what type of mission do you test it ? You should try in different ones, like single, qmb, campaign etc...
It happens that in some types the 'date boost' doesnt work.
And do you actually see the smoke effect from the catapult? That would mean that at least part of the mod works.

I'm using windows 7, is it something to do with that.

In Windows 7 or Windows Vista , When IL-2 1946 executive folder is inside "\Program Files\" or "\Program Files (x86)\" , IL-2 1946 doesn't run well.
Because of UAC (User Account Control).

We have to set IL-2 1946 executive folder outside from "\Program Files\" or "\Program Files (x86)\" like "C:\IL-2\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946".

Okay guys, that's all very helpful.

I'm going to try moving my game into my C drive in a different file, and if that still fails then it must be a corrupt DBW.  It took me forever to download that the first time and it failed, so I ended up doing it twice and that took days to get it all.

But, for the F4 and an angled deck I would sell my children ....  see you again in another lifetime.

Cheers for all your help

Didn't work in my C drive either

Installed Il2 again in C, it works fine, then Installed DBW again over that, works fine - then dropped that mod into DBW and back to square one, the exe wont run.

So none the wiser, it could be my Il2, or it could be my DBW download, who knows !!!

Going to try downloading DBW again, all 19 parts, I may be gone for some time as Captain Oates said ...

Just downloaded a brand new upgrade of DBW - the 4.07m to DBW 1.71 magaupload.

I have a brand new disc for 4.07m.

Installed 4.07m to my C drive - runs perfectly

Installed the Mega Upgrade - runs perfectly

Installed SAS AI, Engines, Hotkeys & Carriers Mod v2.5 into DBW - Game will not run

Conclusion - Brand new disc of 4.07m has something wrong with it or DBW Megaupload has something wrong with it or the Mod has something wrong with it or they all hate each other ....

I guess it's the DBW Megaupload pack that is the problem, I used 2 different disc of the game and 2 different downloads of the DBW Megaupload, so it has to that package that's borked.  Cant report it as a fault, the thread is locked.

I give up .................. >:( >:( >:( >:(

Huzzah!  Success!  My problem was that age old problem of a key mod folder being at the wrong level to work.  It was the SAS_AI_Engine_HotKeys_Carriers_V25 {This is me  :-[   hanging my head in shame  because I should know better by now!  Youse guys taught me better than that!}

Now, I'm a happy but tired camper ;D because the Clemenceau launches, the Essex launches, and the Colossus launches.  Crazy Eddie, perhaps this is your issue as well (I hope for your sake it is, because it is a quick fix).

Regards to all.

RedSpade,

That's good news! Thanks for sharing. The angle-deck carriers look great and my hat is off to all those who were involved in bringing them to IL-2.

Unfortunately for me, my problem with getting the catapults to work on the angle-decks lies elsewhere and remains unknown.

Cheers,
