Sonny I have to agree that your orginal CD is getting "old". I did a clean up of my files a week ago and in doing so I also cleaned out my 4.07 install just to use for updates. After down loading the massive 19 part update to 1.71, I they went to my Il2 1946 disk and loaded it and made a back up copy and put the 4.07 back up into a safe place, pointed the 1.71 19 part update to the new copied 4.07 and I now have a clean up to date 1.71, which I then copied and put the 1.71 into a safe place.
So I had 2 copies of each install, one which I used as a "working copy" to use for updates, just incase I screwup, which has happened many times :'(
Also during all this I checked each install to make sure it was working, total time about 2 hours, time to load IL2 1946 to my hard drive 30 minutes. My system is now 2 years old. Also I have I have only used the IL2 1946 disk to lanuch the program during orginal installs, I have always had a no cdexe.
Many thanks to all involved, thank you, thank you, 1.71 works and looks great. 8) :D
