I put the folder into my maps/Tex folder, made a copy of the picture I liked to use and renamed it to moon0000.tga.

99.9% of all IL-2 maps point to Moon0000.tga

In the download,there is no Moon0000.tga
so any map pointing to a moon0000.tga would not use any of these new moon .tga's
Unless you change the load.ini so it points the game to whichever moon you want

which moon .tga is used is load.ini dependant
In the load.ini of each map,there is a line that points the game towards which moon is used on that map

[APPENDIX]
  Moon = Moon\Moon0000.tga

_Tex/Moon folder would need to contain a .tga named Moon0000.tga(that is customized or it will load the default moon)
The example above of the Moon0000.tga is taken from the WesternFront map by Gilb57
but go ahead and check the maps in IL-2,Almost all maps only use a Moon0000.tga

So to use any of these new moon .tga's on the WesternFront map
the load.ini of this map would need to be edited to point to any other moon

[APPENDIX]
  Moon = Moon\Moon0001.tga  or Moon0002.tga and so on
Or.... you could rename the Moon .tga texture you want .... to Moon0000.tga and place it in correct location in the _Tex folder

I didn't included the Moon0000.tga because its just a black square.
But for example i have "Moon = Moon\Moon0000.tga " in my ag_kt_Karelia load.ini and new textures are working fine.

But i'we tested it with quick mission, maybe it affects to it.

interesting,must be some other influence on which moon is shown though
perhaps the month introduced in the load.ini may have something to do with it,on which Moon is shown on a map
half moon,full moon etc.

Yes,I checked quite a few load.ini's
all seem to point to the Moon0000.tga  :D

I just presumed that one could actually change the Moon with the .tga  ::)

I've tried everything I can think of but no luck. I renamed one Moon0000.tga even tried adding _tex to the entry in the ini but no luck. I'm trying this in UP4.09 but I dont think it matters which install. Its like the the moon tga in the sfs files are over riding it no matter what.

No need to do anything but install them,
they replace the default Moon 

Put the Moon folder with it's textures that are inside the Moon folder, into your _Tex folder ;)

MapMods/maps/_Tex/Moon
