Walter, couldn't agree more. I know nothing about modding, but 4.11 seems very mod friendly. I have many of the UP and DBW sfs files working, and I have installed the 4.09 gear-damage mod without any crashing. All we need now is a new QMB-Benitusimo?! :D :D :P

Guess I'm going to be the first to admit that I'm totally lame and can't get the 4.11 Modact working on my install (4.10.1 with SAS Modact).  ::)

I tried overwriting the corresponding files in the #SAS folders but this crashes loadup at 95%.

Any guidance appreciated, otherwise feel free to kindly disregard.  :P

4.11m have to be installed onto Stock (no MODDed) 4.10.1m folder. :P
This is same as 4.10m onto 4.09m or 4.09m onto 4.08m.

Okay... so why is the SAS modact more than one hundred times the size of this one?? Surely there is a middle ground (where we aren't sucked into the JGSME vortex)?

Has anyone successfully loaded a mod map AND got it to save missions yet?

I am attempting to use the “Object pack of Ultrapack SFS Files for SAS Modact 3.06 and or HSFX “
as presented by Boomer. Is this even possible?

I can get a map to load without problems but I can't save missions due to missing objects.

I believe that I may have the folders structured incorrectly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is possible. Remember to mount the sfs files in the rc. file.

SUCCESS!

Install the JSGME into a clean version of 4.11.

The JSGME installer will create a folder and will ask you to name it
something other than MODS. I named mine “JSGME”.

Within this folder create another folder. I named mine “Modact 0.001 Alpha”.

Within that folder paste the contents of ton414's download.

There should be a il2fb.exe, a wrapper.dll, a folder named “FILES”, and a folder named “MODS”.

Open the folder named “FILES” and you will find an RC file. Open it and add the following lines:

@sfs MOUNT up_objects01.sfs
@sfs MOUNT up_objects02.sfs
@sfs MOUNT up_objects03.sfs
@sfs MOUNT up_objects04.sfs

Next go here

Download all six items.

There should be a folder named “IL-2_#SAS”.

Get into it and find the static.ini inside.

IL-2_#SAS\#SAS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\static

Copy and paste the static.ini file into the JSGME folder we created earlier. Allow to overwrite.

JSGME\Modact 0.001 Alfha\MODS\STS\com\maddox\il2\objects\static

There should be four .sfs files. 

up_objects01.sfs
up_objects02.sfs
up_objects03.sfs
up_objects04.sfs

Copy and paste these four files into your main IL-2 game folder.

That's it. Now you should be able to use any mod maps (that these sfs files contain the objects for)
in version 4.11.

Excellent info for mod maps.

I've had no luck getting mod planes that are working in my 4.10.1 install to work in 4.11, though. New flyable stock planes work perfectly (eg cockpit mods dropped into MODS folder). But some of my 4.10.1 favorites--Fokker G1, PZL Los--cause a 60% CTD when installed in the same manner that worked fine in 4.10.1.

Curious if anyone else has encountered the same thing and how they've worked around it.

 I´ve just found that all the original packs of little effects by Socorrista seems to work flawlessly over 4.11...
