  I get a crash to desktop when I use Screenshot key.  DBW 1.5...  Suggestions?

It is very well - known  error Maico.
You have just hit "memory - wall", for sure You are not able to record tracks also....
I got the same problem, as many users.
I don't really know what causes such situation - got DBW 1.6 with only a few mods installed.

Maico, i repeat the advice i have given for this scenario many times already - do yourself a favor and use Fraps (free download) utility to take screenshots. you can take screenshots via a pre-defined key, and it works for all applications/games, without interfering in any way.

DBW has JPEG-Screenshot Tool enabled per Default, for unknown cause, this won't work well.
Worked until 1.6 installed, then I switched on this (JSGME TGA enabling). I can't say it's a memory thing, as I had this earlier in fairly unmodded Modactivated Game-versions and this issue got me nerving while taking Screenies for my Skins. I got this as soon as I added the old Screenshots as JPEG MOD or cared about Screenshots. Somehow it became weirdo, the stock TGA not working, even causing CTD, then only this lone MOD worked.  Fresh install won't bring it back either, just causing exactly the same behaviour, one version works, in another you can't have it. Couldn't find conflicting MODS, also I'm no coder or JAVA-GURU I can't say what went wrong.
Try enabling "#DBW_MyScreenshots as TGA v2.0" via JSGME. This should work, I hope.

Malone is right, use Fraps or loose nerves.

I have the same problem under UP3 with both tga and jpeg screenshots

Why use screenshot at all, dl Fraps and you will never ever use anything else ever. No fps loss just push F10 , videos .

Yeah, that works!  But now how do I open the TGA files?  I cant view them...   At least the CTD are gone.

Go to Fraps and DL freeware, you never have problems, u use it on all programs. I never got those TGA to work either.

   I used FRAPS for about two months.  It caused very low fps on my machine.  I tried to persevere with it but finnally I decided to take it off my pc.  Wow, what a difference!  I got my performance back.  I am not saying it is not for anyone.  I am just stating that FRAPS is not for me. 
Why cant we open the TGA?  If we switched to TGA and they dont work, what is the point?
