i think.
They all look the bloody same...
?!!
XD

When you have to decide where to put individual vertices in the model you do notice the small differences.

Early Enterprise and Yorktown are similar except for the AirOps control room on the port side of the bridge. By 1942 there are differences in the AA.  In 1943 Enterprise had a major refit which included significant changes to the bridge and directors. Hornet, being a later build, was always a bit different in bridge structure, directors and AA.  --- but to be honest, many would not notice.

back in the day i could name you  about 25 differences between a Type VII/b and a VII/c Submarine. Or the different loadouts of German destroyers.

Whats funny, is that every time someone brings a piece of Hardware back to life by Modding, i start to dig through the net, looking to find informations about the object i have been "given", "recieved as a gift".

sometimes i happen to find a magazine or a Book about the subject in a store or at home, giving me these wonderful "ahaaaa" moments. It seems to me that, what ever i look for is the thing that is on my mind somewhere.
British DDs... i see them everywhere.
Arsenal VG.33... see a magazine.
Floppy dingus mustang in the DBW forum... i run across a Book on polish mustang aces.
D.520 WIP thread: an article about how the Italians used them.

then i do not hesitate, and grab the book -my way not only to appreciate the effort and investing a bit of money myself, but also educate myself a bit on how to properly use, or not use the item.

But it remains true: the creator is much closer to his creation than the user.
how about including a ZIP of your favourita "subject" material with the download? could tel us how you see your creation, and understand what you were aiming for.

You want weekly updates?
Progress is continuing.
Most of the 3D work for the bridge is done, including directors, masts.
Now working around the hanger walls to add all of the fine detail at that level.
All of it will still need to be skinned properly.
I still see this as a 6 month job so dont expect it to be released soon.

Stern Detail - ships boats, bollards, cleats etc still to be added.
The line of the upper hull below the 5in gun platforms needs correcting.

On previous models I have never thought that the ladders were an important enough visual feature to expend polys on. All this changes on Yorktown.

Asheshouse, lookin' just swell! However remember: there are no stairs on ships, they're always called " ladders". Same goes for ceilings, walls, doors & floors. Overhead, bulkhead, hatch & deck. I still remember Boot Camp " ya don't knock on the door, ya hit that hatch, sailor!
All in fun. Please keep up the good work, it's much appreciated.

alphacuts at their best.
stuff like that makes the pilot feel at home, be that the atlantic, the Med or across the globe in the pacific.
motivation to come home in one piece and see the ship once again...
