Great topic, and great work, but the back part of the gear isn't right. I went to Germany (from the US) and got some good pictures. I also build this gear for R/C airplanes.... here's how it should look from the side. Note the rear stays - in general it looks good, just need to adjust the angle of the back stays. I know it probably doesn't help for IL2, but I have modeled the whole gear in Solidworks, and have it fully machined and working in 1/13 scale :)

Jafa, the mod looks great. Particularly like the 'squidge' effect on touch down.

The back part of the gear may be slightly wrong, but its a vast improvement on the original.

I think it's Spanish CASA 2111 restored by Deutsches Museum in Munich, a great work because in Spain it won't never be restored like that :(, but it should be an accurate source without engines...

While restoring...

Its at Schlessheim in Munich.... its a CASA, but the landing gear is the same. The big thing is the visual from the side. In game its just way off, but easy to correct I would think. The actual linkages are pretty complicated. It took me a fair while to get an accurate working model version.
