You could also try adding a small overlay patch to make the sun emblem on the bow higher resolution.

That's a great idea actually, going to put one of these

Ok here you go, new hull model completed

but it is much better than the hull in beta release

Do not judge the bad shadows thing, it will dissapear once ingame. That's blender's way to tell you it's "smooth"

Now all I have to do is create a new texture for it as well. I think I will change wood colour to match teh one in Western's Nagato so teh whole fleet shows some unison in colour.

Great news Diving Hawk, but I’m going to start practice trying to sink her with the current beta model. See if I can beat the historical record – 11 torpedoes & 6 bombs – was it?  ;)

Congrats & well done - the beta looks terrific :)

Looking forward to your updated version(s). This will be a most important ship for late war pacific campaigns.

Hawkers :)

Work on the armour belt for more detail.

Now have to readjust the texture + add details on deck and some on the side

Ok gents I present you the final look of Hull meshes.
You will notice alot of changes in armour belt , much more smooth shape + nice 3d details above armour belt
Deck texture is brand new aimed to look well with rest of Western's IJN ships as an armada 8)

Atm I'm just readjusting some shadow and collision meshes and building you the early variant also , with less guns but 2 more turrets.

Then I'll post it as v1 in ships.

You put a lot of work in there! And it shows, this ship sure looks nice. Thumbs up!
What size is the skin? is this 1024x1024 or bigger?

MARVELOUS!!!

May I give a suggestion?
Seems you are modelling the Yamato as it was during her final mission in April 1945.
In this case there were two triple barrelled 25mm AAA guns on the roofs of #2 and #3 Main turrets (see the very detailed profile annexed). Hope this can help you in your already outstanding work.

Thank you!

Well my ship parts are more than 100.
And I'm near the limit in hier file.

But since everything else is done, I'll see if I can squeeze these turret guns in there. Thx for reminding me about those.

Preview of damage mesh/holes.

What about some semi-molten /crushed  steel bars as 3d details to make holes more real?
And also blown around objects not visible in this pic

Wow - that is hugely impressive :) :) :)

Outstanding work - well done!!  :)

Presumably, Musashi (Yamato's sister ship) could also be made from this model?

Hi DH,
she looks much better after your "rebuilt"  ;), but please replace the handrails and provide the triple 25-mm a basement, she will look even better

greetings
