To Diving_Hawk:

May I tell you one request?

When you try to make more new ship MOD after Yamato BB,
Please model in 3D by axis X-plus to front, Y-plus to left(portside), Z-plus to up.
Then, you will be able to write Hier.him "Atatching 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 ..." for Hulls and Decks, so with no rotation.
I model ships like this axis, in my head ship XYZ direction and position xyz plus-minus are drawing a blueprint by looking at her parameters.

But a ship is rotated, I will confuse this vector direct which X?Y? or moving front/rear??? rotated 90 deg plus or minus??? Oh......

At Daidalos's default ships usually rotated as same as your Essex.
Daidalos's airplanes, too.
Also SAS airplanes MODDers make airplanes MOD in this rotated direction.
I'm not so clever to understand soon that rotated 3D model in my head.

Looks like you have some problems separating out smoothing groups.
Which exporter are you using?  BuggyBuggy or Maraz?

I'm not using buggy buggy or maraz since I do not use 3ds max or gmax.

These models are directly from Blender and loaded into Dr jones msh converter as 3ds then using only 1 facegroup into the game.

Anyway the flickering issue in the stern LODS is now solved.
The only prob that remains is 1 shading issue in front LOD.
I think it is somehow conected to the texture of that part?

Anyway now the ship has got only 1 minor shading issue in 2 LOD models the rest are fixed

Yep i'll gladly do that.
I just thought there is soem importance in rotating the ship like the ingame one.

Ok guys

I'm happy to say that the LOD shading issues ( at least those I could find, lol) have being solved.
For damage models I think I'll leave the dark shading in hull1 anyway it will go well with damage.

Now i just need someone to create the slots.

I'm not familiar with blender but it looks as if the surfaces (facets) of the turrets etc are not reflecting light correctly because smoothing groups are not recognised. You may be able to work around this by detaching surfaces of objects (in Blender) and then re-attaching, but not welding the vertices. This should make the various planes appear as separate surfaces and reflect the light correctly.

I see you are using secondary guns from the KGV class ships. These have a very different appearance to the IJN guns. Maybe you could ask Western if you could use guns from Nagato or Kongo. They are fairly high poly though. The targeting directors also appear to be from KGV Class, so maybe Western can help with these too.

How many polys do you have overall in the LOD0 model?

At Yamato class, secondary guns are 155mm triple on center line.

ashe says guns are 127mm AAA.
My Kongo/Nagato BBs 127mm AAA is not my model.
I borrow 127mm model from Daidalos's Shokaku CV's .msh.
25mm machine gun model , triple ones are the same from Shokaku CV, twin ones are from Akizuki DD.

But Yamato's 127mm AAA and 25mm triple m-guns are special (not all, a half of all).
To avoid main cannons blast, half of AAA and 25mm are covered by shelter.
At 1941 built time, all the AAA and 25mm are covered by shelter.
But in adding AAA,25mm , added ones didn't have shelter.
At 1944 or 1945, lower side AAA,25mm had shelter, higher center AAA,25mm didn't have.
Differrence is only looking shelter were or not, but inside guns were the same.
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%95%E3%82%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%83%AB:Yamato_model_AA_guns.jpg

BTW, Shokaku class CV's right/rear side AAA/25mm had shelters in real, too. Daidalos don't modelize it.
This is not avoiding blast. For avoiding engine smoke. Shokaku's stack is right side and smoke flowed there AAA/25mm.

My 127mm are also from Ryujo I think or sth like that.

Half of my 25mm aaa/flak are covered with shelter( did not have time to make my own so borrowed the shelter from another gun) I'll see they are more resistant than rest, that would be a nice detail

Secondary guns are not from KGV

460mm and 155mm are done by me

then 25mm and 50 cal are taken from an ingame BB I think

I did not alter any turret models except the first 2

If I could use the real IJN 25mm guns that would be great anyone made those?

The AA Guns visible in the image you have posted are the 5.25in Mk1 twin turrets from KGV Class, 2 pdr 40mm PomPom from KGV Class and 20mm Oerlikon. Some of the 40mm PomPom type are overlaid with the turret from the 5.25in type to resemble a shield. As said in an earlier post the directors are also from KGV Class. There are no guns from Ryujo in what you have shown. As Western has suggested there are guns available from stock IJN carriers which would probably be more authentic to use.
