You have recently started playing IL2, or joined this forum, or you have been away for a while, or, you are just a little intimidated by some of our more outspoken experienced members. This is a board where you are safe, and you can relax.
Any question relating to IL2 or the SAS Forum can be asked here, without fear of any sarcastic or attacking answer. Members who make themselves guilty of being nasty in this forum will get fed to Malone.
Here will also be stickies with realy basic forum rules and guidelines, and links to the most essential tutorials.(And experienced members are encouraged to write a tutorial or two for this section if they like)
All other forum rules stay in effect on this forum: No politics, no religion, no spam, no rudeness and no spam please. This is for IL2 and Forum questions, no matter how basic, or how silly they are. The idea here is for a place where new members can help each other, and also get help from some older hands who may want to help.

hi, ive had 1946 for about a year now and only done the patches for it. i started trying to mod , and yes, i have read the tutorials, but i just cant figure it out. ive got yhe 4.101 megapatch from mission4today and the sas modact 3.06. when ever i try to add a plane, it loads to 70 percent and then crashes, and like i said, ive read the tutorials and just cant figure out what im doing wrong.

Did you tryed to add teh air.ini lines that are inside de STD folder?

Hello,Im new in here and im playing il2 since 2003, Ive always did the patch but didnt play online too much,maybe 2 hours max. Anyway, Now i bought a descent PC and looking for mods. I also tried a mod il2-1956 but unfortunately its too confusing for me,I hope I could figure it out. YEEHAA :P

This is a pack with a lot of ini entryes, You might try to install one plane so you see where air.ini goes and plane.ru and weapon .ru.
It is really nothing to it when you got used to it. Remember to copy/ backup any ini file before altering it. In modact and packs you will have a Folder called Mods or #SAS or #DBW in there You find STD Folder ini files are in the Objectsfolder inside several subfolders, Buttons are inside Gui/Game and Ru are in i18n.
