UBS & Mg131 sound problems
« on: December 10, 2011, 10:26:34 AM »

I have some strange sound problems with the sounds of this weapons

i use the SAS_WeaponsClasses_4_Sound but i have to delete the files of the mg131 to get the sounds working for it i have in the presets and wav folder........i must say that i have these files still in the old "files" folder, not in the mods folder

is their a mod so i can use sound from the mod folder ?? imean for sure there is but i not really know to search for it here on sas.

I also must delete the files for the UBS to get the sound I select for it working, but than the sound of the mg131 changes to an "ft ft ft ft" sound not very fitting for a heavy mg ?

Im not using any of the large mod packs

maybe someone, if best who speaks german, can help me to get this problem rid so i can use both can with the selected sounds

Could you be more specific about your installation?

Which buttons are you using?

The buttons are the latest

I think you can call it a simple modactivator installation, non of the large mod packs are used.

i have dl and copy the latest Modactivator Beta for 4.09 today, even myself wonder the game started, but the sound stays the same.

present and sample files in the "files" folder is the only option right ?

EDIT : I will now make a second clean 1946 4.09 installation, use the SAS Mod activator, copy the preset and samples folder from my old Il2 to the "Files" folder of the new one, and put only the SAS Weapon Modact in the new modfolder and will check how the weapons sounds there.

as you can see I´m really desperate, i trying to solve this problem for over a year now

Sorry for your prob!

I think it's related to a change in sounds reference into the buttons. Do you have already take a look here?  http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,18704.0.html

As far as I remember of my ancient 409 installation (before UP2.01)...when I use sound mod I put them only into MODS folder.

Take a look also at the sound matrix provided with buttons...there you'll see how gun sounds /and their names) are changed for every AC...so you could change the name of your .wav and .psr files with the correct ones! http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,899.0.html

You can look at your log.file to see what file is missing or not loaded.

Good luck!

Do you just make a folder "sounds" in the mod folder an copy the presets and samples folder in it ?

I have check the sound reference some time again, the wavs and presets are right. the thing is also if I delete the files for the UBS in the SAS V1 Weapon Mod the sound changes to the one I selected in wav folder

Also, this is the best, I havent the sound file which is used for the ubs and mg131 and I dont like no where on my pc. I dont know where this sound is coming from ?!?!?!?

Whatever name you choose and inside you've a ...presets/sounds for .prs files and Samples folder for .wav ones.

This is the latest 409 officially supported buttons http://www.mediafire.com/?9htfenwrz4uy9rq

This is his soundmatrix http://www.mediafire.com/?cc565vkm26odwy0

Do you've considered to upgrade your IL2 to 410.1...possibly with UP3+DBW? I recommend it.

Cheers

Solved it by accident. I have installed the Battlesounds 2 Mod, and it changes the sound of the UBS and the MG131
in the "samples" folder was a wav file called "mgun_sml_08_14i", this change the sound. sadly both weapons share the same sound but its much better than before

It seems that is has to do something with my presets file, there from 2009, very old.

In the clean 4.09m Modact was the same problem i discribe in the first post in this thread

What you mean...most recent?

I don't know. There're many sound mods...or possible variations!

For vanilla 409 try to extract .sfs files and look inside them.

For 410.1 there're dedicated sound mods integrated in UP/DBW/HSFX or stand-alone as Jiver's one.
