Probably he wasn't an experienced pilot as well, making a few mistakes, flying low, not knowing his course, so he had other things on mind than some Fighters for which he was an easy prey.

That makes sense. He would have been flying low and slow, looking for landmarks on the ground. No situational awareness since he wasn't a combat pilot. Easy prey for the U.S. fighters which were ubiquitous over Germany by late 1944.

That could explain the gun camera film which shows the P-51 coming in close from behind. The U.S. pilot gets close enough to see the crosses on the wings of the strange new plane, checks for the skies for other hostile planes (Could be an ambush!), turns on his camera, charges his guns (if hasn't already) and carefully lines up his shot. Camera fails (or film is edited) just as he starts to shoot.

Its known that no 2 seaters were lost. So it must be film from the mock fight

Yeah, true, if that lost 335 mentioned earlier by Knochenlutscher was not a two seater, then this must be post war "playing around"
