Besides retexturing don't forget to add half a million sheep on the Falklands.  ::)

Hi razor1 i believe that is San Carlos sound just over the ridge,.....now where are those harriers? ;)

Uuff.....i'm guessing that there are probably more sheep than women on the islands but that still doesn't excuse that soldier from doing a bit of sheep worrying.....or maybe hes just painting numbers on them ;D

Very impressive!!  now i'm pretty sure that any thread or post on the Falklands is going to bring up the subject of harriers sooner or later so how real is this? will these harriers become reality? are they really in the pipeline for IL-2 or is this just a tease?

I'm not knocking Saniels work here, like i said i'm very impressed but i've seen projects like this before vertically lift off into orbit never to be seen again! I can only hope to see them flying over RD's fantastic map and if this were so then i would happily re-texture the map for the 1940's and 1980's to a standard that would compliment this fantastic aircraft........and then put in a request for HMS Hermes 8)

Who knows? I've seen YouTube videos of some aircraft which appear to be well along in their development, but which haven't yet been released even though it's been years. Off the top of my head, in addition to the AV-4 Harrier, Saniel (who I now realize is goes by the handle of SAS_Sani on this site) has also been teasing us with the Bell UH-1 Iroquois "Huey":

and the Fock-Angelis Fa-223 Drache:

and the MiG-21:

and the Sopwith Camel:

and a drivable halftrack with a player-controlled AA gun:

He also seems to be a decent composer and an excellent guitarist! Truly a man of many talents!

I made a 1:2 ratio map :"Atlantico sur" - I placed the islands closer to the continent, but maintaining the 1:2 ratio for land masses, to make flights a bit shorter. Still a Flight from the continent to the islands in a Panther takes about 20 minutes at around 350 kts.

Texturing is definitely not one of my strong points, if I have any, so it would be a honor if someone would do that map too.
