Here In Alaska that is what we say about Californa.   
We had a 9.2 in 1964 and a 7.9 in I think 2003 I rode that one out.

Lived in CA my whole life except my military service, 20 miles away from the states geographical center, and I've only ever felt one earthquake, back when I was like 9, and I only noticed because the models hanging from my ceiling started swaying gently. :D

In Valdez we have three to five a week. Some you feel others not so.
