But to be honest I am totally biased when it comes to the rustang.
Its just ugly as sin, nothing near as sleek and deadly in appearance as the old 109.
In fact there has never been and never will be an aircraft as beautiful as the 109.
Simple fact, really.

Love the Daimler sound. And they were a completely different kettle of fish to fly than things like the contemporary Spit too, very much like comparing a chevy small block to a chevy big block, just a whole different animal despite performing the same task.
Daimlers just idled along on sheer displacement, Merlins are finely tuned revvers. The biggest difference this made was at cruise condition if you got jumped and had to work up the motor to combat trim. Takes a minute or two in the Spit. In a Daimler you just shove the throttle forward and you've instant power on tap. Max output isn't that different from cruise in terms of flying condition, in the Merlin it's a completely different engine trim.
This was a factor, and it was intentional.

well why did they name the corvette, my most favourite car ever, after the most disgusting class of fighting
ship?
oh and for the record, the mustang and Messerschmitt are exactly the same in terms of beauty for me... though the 109K4 is by far the most beautiful plane ever hands down

  • So what... ask your self, is it worth it?

The Mustang was sooo awaited by the Bombercrewes. It is why it was developed with the Merlin. Best fighter of the world I have seen many TV productions based on that question.
They all end with different answeres. And we will not find the truth here either. Fighters for us is like cars, it's all a matter of taste.
I havent flown the mustang on one campaign in this game. I find it witout any kind of charm, too easy to fly. The only one better is some of the Spits witch I seldom fly. In this game it just arent any limits I feel for them
