Probably because I kept mucking with it and kept loosing a 'smooth' flight.

Think I'll give your cut and paste a try - I certainly know how to reinstall!  :)

 I stand corrected! I just moved FSX from my SSD to C: with ctlx, ctlv (cut and paste) and durrned if you aren't right, at least on my system.

 It loads a bit slower but the in flight result is the same.

 Guess the old goat can still learn, thank goodness.

 Now I'll move DBW to the SSD, same way.

Worked a sinch with Cut/Paste in XP i'm pleased to report! Just had to 'send to' desktop with the new .exe icon, even my add-ons are working.

Found a utility called 'FSX Reg Fix' over at Flight1 which seemed to sort everything else out but not sure it was needed at all !!
