Hi Guys,

I run a heavily updated AAA UI 1.0 version of the game with the latest SAS buttons and have today been installing a load of new stuff without any problems ( I even did a manual install of the latest Bf109 pack without a hitch along with the latest UI12 planes - all worked great) however somewhere along the line somethings gone hideously wrong !!

The game loads completely without a hitch, when I select a mission to fly in my QMB and click 'fly' the load screen opens for a second or two then the whole game just shuts down to desktop ?? It doesnt matter which a/c I choose or which map - always the same ??

Any ideas ??

Given that you have a complete AAA setup UI_1.1+1.2+additional mods wouldn't be better to ask support at AAA? Checking your log would also hel you in providing useful information to discover the origin of the problem

Keep trying to reply but when I try to attach my file the post times out !!

My sound.log tells me IL2 couldnt load my centaurus.wavs (reinstalled but were there anyway) and music/be.wav ?? I cant find this .wav anywhere - any ideas? Can you pm me a copy ?

BTW, I posted here because I like it here !!

UPDATE Nope that wasnt it sound.log clear, only other log file I have is Hs_err_pid208.log but its dated 25/1/09

I know that we are nice but AAA put together the pack and naturally have a better knowledge of what's inside and how to sort out the problems related.

The log I was mentioning is a file that's called log.lst located in the main il-2 folder and that logs the game launch and missions launch. read this thread.

Thanks mate - you pre-empted my next question re the log file, cant believe i've played this game for so long and never knew how to do that !!

making, I'm not 100% on this, but I've seen others with similar problems as you describe, and it was related to one of Zuti's mods, possibly the Reduced Friction mod?
Have a go at disabling Zuti's mods one by one, and see if that solves your problem.

Thanks Malone - pinned it down to Zutis Airfield friction mod - had 2 versions in my mod folder, kept 0.4 and ditched 0.3 - all ok now !!
