Hello folks!

I think that never in history there has been such a successful petition as this one! Eagle Dynamics have released an API (check this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=73665&page=10), so alternative headtracking is now possible in their games!

Yesterday I had a few hours to spare, so I have already made a working prototype. It needs some more testing and tweaking, but it's going to work!

Thanks for supporting the petition, like you did. For those who have not voted yet: it cannot hurt if you vote anyway, so other developers can see the large number of users who want free head-tracking  :)

Hi SAS,

Do you mean RoF is not FaceTrackNoIR compatible? I must say I haven't tried it, since I don't have the program. I guess you want to fly RoF too (since you are posting about it). Maybe you can stir up the users a bit?

You can fly RoF for free.
The game is Free now, you only need to buy new planes. ;)

OK, thx for that. Now I have tried RoF I have a question for SAS~Malone: what do you mean? I just activated 'fake TrackIR' and it works just fine in Rise of Flight! Didn't even have to configure anything. Maybe you have a different version (is there a 64-bit version of RoF?).

V4Friend, iam only aware of one version, i am still on XP 32-bit, and using the RoF demo(1.020), i found that i could not pan my view at all until i uninstalled the FTNoIR software.
this was after i had tried several options, and one of the guys asked me if i had any facetracking software - i said yes, he then advised to uninstall it, which i did, and immediately i could pan (well, with the mouse, at least.... :P
going through the forum, i found others who were similarly affected until they uninstalled their alternative facetracking software.
could be a system-specific issue, though - i am still investigating.... ;)

i found that i could not pan my view at all until i uninstalled the FTNoIR software.
For me, the logical explanation would be that RoF loads the NPClient.dll, from the location stored in the registry (HK_USER/Software/Naturalpoint/Naturalpoint/NPClientLocation/Path).

To remedy this you could change the name of the DLL, so RoF cannot load it any more, or you could change the registry key. I realize that it's not the most beautiful solution...   8)

Mind you, if RoF would check if view changed  'at all' and only applied new values, then this would not be a problem...

V4friend, i might try that 'not so elegant' solution, thanks for the reply.
i was enjoying the FTNoIR software so much, and was a bit upset that i had to uninstall it for RoF to work.
i'll definitely try that solution and see how it goes, thanks for the tip.  ;)
