Heinkel He 59 float plane
« on: April 11, 2011, 10:38:08 AM »

This project was something started last year and subsequently put aside as RL intervened.

Now that I have a little more time, and now that - following the news that Ranwers is working on a frankened Do17 - the do17 I was working on has been shelved, this Heinkel seaplane is back on the burner. A most of the main modelling is more or less complete - it's now down to adding details, corrections and just a little tweaking.

Here's where I could use some help. My references on the He59 are pathetic ;D and there is little good info on the web. I would be grateful if anyone could offer up photos, drawings that show more detail and also anything on cockpit and internals would be most welcome :)

Here are a few render shots of the model as it currently stands:

Excellent project! Very useful in early war and BoB campaigns! Hope you will pull it through, even only as a AI aircraft!

Thankyou, chaps :)

Fusek & Realdarko - many thanks for those references - they are very useful indeed :) The drawings I used for the model were very crude, to say the least :D So I can't guarantee total scale accuracy and much detail was missing. With the info you've given me, I've been able to add some details that were missing, and it should be possible to build a cockpit too. Anyway, a couple more screens showing armament added.

I'm really interested in this plane as It was used during SCW, as night bomber, patrol plane and to attack republican convoys, will be a nice addition with that 20mm nose cannon!!

And from this we could easily make a He-115 Franken!
