Thanks! But as I always say: building campaigns is simply my way of giving something back to the community, and not least to all modders whose hard, intelligent and wonderful job has brought this game to new heights!  :)

building a campaign is one thing. What you are doing is a historical knowhow and make us feel a big part of it. This is not only anything, it is fantastic. Everyone can make a mission or two. But making them like you is a goal few of us ever can hope to manage.

Without you and some others the mods would almost be pointless  :D

Know this as a fact

Is there any way to get the Solomons map in a 4.09 installation? I've got 4.09 setup and running great and I hate to start all over again with 4.10.

I do love your campaigns Poltava and this one looks like a great one.

Le0ne! Thanks for the offer! I will take you up on that!  ;D

Catahoulak! There is a guy at M4T who says that converting from 4.10 to 4.09 is easy. See here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=ForumsPro&file=viewtopic&p=94703#94703

The solution of the whole 4.09/4.10 quandry for me is... having it both ways! I have a 4.10 install, and another one 4.09 modded. And I will keep it that way until Ultrapack for 4.10 arrives!

Huge thank you for the tip Poltava! I just changed the map name and so far it's working great in 4.09. Sooner or later I'll install 4.10 but not today. Too many zeros to take care of.

Hi Poltava thx for the Great Campaign. the last post is long time ago, but hopefully you read this post. ;D
I have Download the campaign for few day's ago after Patch 4.11, and i hope the patch has nothing corrupted in the campaign.
In the fifth mission i must be protect B-24 from the jap's, on the way from guadalcanal to mundo airfield, but the P-40 run out of fuel short before the Mission Target.
I can't protect the Bomber or clash in to the sea on the way to homebase. with patch 4.11 you have a hard fight there 20-25 Zeros over Mundo, one fail and you are fish feed, but without Fuel no single bomber come home.
I hope this not a future ;) the P-40 has loaded 90% Fuel on Board 10% more and and the Bomber Crewman can lie on the Beach and not under the waves ;)

Sorry for my English im a German nobody is perfect

Well, it IS a stretch to go all the way, but at least in 4.10 it could be done, using droptanks, you got to have droptanks and as much fuel as you can carry. Also I've used autopilot on a large portion of the mission, as the autopilot (at least in 4.10) was better than me in conserving fuel.

I intend to update "Vampires" to 4.11, so I will look into this myself, eventually. What can be said that those missions were done IRL. But because of the new enemy AI I perhaps must tune down the Japanese a bit.

Thanks for the feed-back, and please keep me posted!

thanks poltova, i changed all P-40 to Droptanks, the mission running fine. I think it is the new engine Temperature management, the AI changed very often power to not overheat the Engine. in seventh Mission the same of the way to Mundo, give the P-40 Droptanks, changed the Squadron of the SBD-5 Navy Bomber, because you will fly not a P-40 but SBD-5. time not delay, it's allways dark.
In the least on Mission 4 Today found from Ranncon skins for 44th Vampires...i hope this help a little bit..;)

Vampires of Guadalcanal updated!
« Reply #23 on: March 06, 2012, 12:38:09 PM »

I have now posted version 2.0 of "Vampires of Guadalcanal". The campaign has been subject to a big overhaul.

Firstly the campaign has been upgraded to 4.11 standards, which includes new take-off standards (mainly in pairs) and patrol way-points. And yes, you will meet the Ki-45! Have also added five new missions (all with a random element), where you fly the P-38. (The 44th Fighter Squadron converted to the P-38 late in the autumn of 1943.) So now the campaign consists of 18 missions. I've also added skins, tweaked a number of old missions and fixed typos etc.

You can download it here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=4042

Thanks for looking!  :)
