FB-86.
« on: February 11, 2011, 03:33:18 PM »

Hello guys.. after you might of seen my horrible attempt at the A-3,
I took a new approach to the whole thing. I decided (after seeing someone's post on my "any interest" thread)
to make a Jet fighter (that is fantasy  ;) ) that might be plausible. Like what Beo's doing with the WWI mods.  :P

It's the FB-86 attack Sabre.  ;)
The idea behind it is a F-86, that's been modified with two General Electric J-47 engines on the wings- to serve as a ground pounder.  :D (But it was only a prototype)

Ideal Armament (that I think would work):

2x Miniguns (not sure what models were around in the 50's)- 8000 rounds each,

OR-

20x HVAR rockets,

OR-

4x 500 pound bombs,

So... yeah. I would like a new slot please, with the FM (if possible).  :P

By the way, could an admin delete that "any interest" post I made?

I am interested already!

Would be nice to have an aircraft capable of carrying 16000 rounds! (Are you sure it's not the firing rate per... 5 minutes!?)

Looks cool, I will keep the guns at a realistic 4x20mm or something like that, after all is a fantasy plane but If is kept close to reality it will be more fun I think

Looks good Me-109, reminds me a bit of the Me-262 HG III, with the engines in the wing root, theres an image here

http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/PLA13172

maybe in the future you could have a look at converting the Me-262 in game to the Me-262 HG III.

best of luck

Most Ground Attackers from this time carried Sidewinders for Defence. Would you think about including them in the Loadout?

Me-109 innovation is all about trying and failing, but in a split second you create wonders earned by expirience gained
keep up your good work
