This is the 'stock' Online 8 Islands map which i've re-modelled and re-textured to bring the islands into the northern hemisphere, no new land has been added and the coastlines remain unaltered but the terrain has been dramatically altered and re-textured using images taken from the Scottish highlands, Scottish islands and the English Cumbrian lake district to give them a very northern feel. Heavily populated in a very regimented, ordered German style they would not be out of place off the coast of Norway.

This will not affect your stock Online 8 Islands or your Pacific Islands map but will be completely independant, now adjusted to work with the 4.10 patch.

You will need

SAS MODACT 2.5 Beta and UP BOOMERS Objects mod for 4.10 SAS Activated Games (all five packs)

I was wondering if the zipfile I downloaded was all. It seems to only contain the texture files for the map, but not the map files ...

Thanks ... the screenshot looks so good that I wanted to try this map out as soon as possible ... it looks like retexturing the old standard maps can be very rewarding in terms of landscapes looking better

It was a pleasure to make it, i made it some time ago for a campaign i had in mind but never got round to starting, it was Bombsaway who convinced me not to delete it and put it up for download

Sure ... it is a beautiful map with some of the best texturing I have ever seen. Looks like almost every pixel was carefully placed by hand.

But now that you mention it, there was a line I had to rewrite or adjust, as it was pointing to a texture that wasn't where it should be:

Tree0 = Trees/Early-Mid_Autumn/AutumnBushEA.tga

You should perhaps either create the folder:
Trees/Early-Mid_Autumn
and then place the texture
AutumnBushE.tga
in that folder, or else take the same Tree0 line from another working map in your install and use that, for instance like this:

Tree0 = Trees/G-AlteredBush8a.tga

I should have posted this perhaps, but I am so used to fiddling around with load.ini's and map stuff that I forgot about it ...

would qmb's for online 8 work with this? will change the Map name in QMB mission and give it a whirl!
