I activated it through JSGME in ModAct 2.72. What i forgot was to place the right il2fb.exe in the right folder.

This is my JSGME version for ModAct 2.72: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?6hgaeexx9984521

Just put it in the jsgme folder, and activate it. It worked for me that way.

Hmm. Tried through JSGME and that didn't work either. By default, do you have to use the "*" key to get the 6DOF to turn on? I get normal head tracking, but not 6DOF... also, I don't have a num pad on my keyboard, but do have the "*" key.. wonder if there is some key mapping thing? I did have to run in it XP compatibilty mode for it to run at all (on win7).... Odd. Oh well, I guess buying the TrackIR5 was a waste of money until BOB arrives :(

If 2 DOF works then the problem is with the way your 6DOF mod is installed.   Put the 6DOF Lookaround folder ( in it you should have 5 files with alpha/numerical names) into the 'MODS' folder.  Replace the IL2fb.exe in the main Il1946 folder with the one that came with the 6DOF Mod (store the original in a safe place rather than overwrite it).  That's all you should have to do to have 6DOF working unless your TrackIR software isn't correctly set up for all 6 axis.

Yep did that. in the Trackir console, the 6dof is clearly working. Could be some other setting somewhere? I'll play with it some more.. the 2dof works fine.

I'm wondering, TrackIr may be loading the profile for 'IL2 ForgottenBattles' when you launch the game and is set up for 2DOF since that was how it was originally meant to be.  You may be testing it with a 'default' profile that has all axis enabled but this is not the one loaded by Il1946 when the game is launched.

Launch TIR and the game, then minimise IL1946.  you can then examine the TrackIR profile loaded for  IL2 ForgottenBattles from the drop down list in the 'Profiles' Tab and check/enable all the axis, or create a new one then save it.

Hopefully you will have 6DOF........and not have to wait for CoD, unfortunately thats all I can come up with.

Thanks for the tip.. turns out it was a combo of being in gun sight view all the time and not enough sensitivity on the 6DOF part. Once I tuned it so I couldn't look around more than I would be able to in real life, it was all good , thanks!

This mod appears to handle roll input incorrectly.  Specifically, it applies the roll transform last (after yaw and pitch).

To clarify the problem, roll your head 90 deg left.  You're still looking straight ahead, but your head is on its side, left ear down.  Now yaw your head 90 degrees right; you find yourself looking at the ceiling.  The TrackIR software handles this correctly; if you perform a scaled-down version of this in the calibration app, the expected behavior occurs.  However, if you then start up IL-2 with this mod installed, you end up looking to the right; the roll is applied after the 90 degree yaw, which leaves you head-tilting out the side window instead of straight upwards.  I find this extremely disorienting and it's forced me to disable roll entirely in TrackIR; I'd really like to see this fixed, to the extent that I'd even try to do so myself if I had the first clue how to mod.

only 2DOF work in Facetrack. why?

PS: I's work only in Non-Gunsight position, Shift+F1 change it back, it will be only 2DOF. Strange!
I use Facetrack!
