New Map in Preparation - Screenshots
« on: November 15, 2010, 05:41:28 PM »

When I was young I saw Lawrence of Arabia and it blew my mind I suppose. In any case, just to show what's in the make, here are some screenshots of (yet another) new desert map. These are views of a number of villages, also with templates by Uuffllakke.

There will be more types of villages and towns, some of them of a totally different architecture and cultural origin. We're not disclosing the location yet, just for the fun of it, but it's very obvious that it will be of a mainly desert/semi-arid location. It is of a place that has not been done yet and will be in the time honored tradition of being remote, obscure and all but forgotten.

Can't set any time-line on completion, but maybe with some luck around Christmas. Perhaps three wise guys from back east can drop it down the chimney ... ahem ... I meant the Wise Men of course ... ha ha

Your towns look very realistic, in lot of maps, houses are put in midlle of nowhere without roads to connect.....
Same for the airfield, proper use of the ground texture to set buildings enhance the final aspect.
very good job, that's the kind of map to be used without moderation even for "tourist" flights....

Uufflakke is to thank for that really.

He makes very good and realistic looking villages and towns and knows how to take objects and put them to use in ways you wouldn't expect. For instance on this map he came up with some great combinations of airfield objects that were used with his repaints and when used together give yet more new looking desert/North African houses and buildings. There will be more unusual combinations in this map, which hopefully will only make it more attractive and colorful to use.
