SAS Mod Activator v2.2 ~ For Clean 4.09m

Before you can use any mods, you need to download and install the SAS Mod Activator

you will need IL2 1946 v4.08 to be installed on your computer, and it needs to be upgraded to version 4.09. It needs to be in working condition before proceeding.

Users of UP or HSFX DO NOT NEED THIS MODACTIVATOR!!!!



To install the Mod Activator:

Extract and Look at the files that came inside this SAS Modact you downloaded.

Select the following items in the folder
They are:

1) a folder called "MODS"
2) a folder called "FILES"
3) a file called Files.SFS
4) an exe Called Il2fb.exe
5) a dll called wrapper.dll
6) a folder called "DGen"
7) a folder called "Missions"

Drag (or copy) them all into your IL2 Sturmovik 1946 folder.

A dialog will appear warning you about folder replacement. Select "Yes to all"

And then you are done!

Fixes in 2.2~ Removed 2nd set of Plane_ru and weapons_ru files in XTD folder.
Fixes in 2.1~ RAF Ranks in English (thanx to McWolf), Renamed map Texture Bug Solved(Thanx to Birman and all involved),  Russian Chatter and Netmessages Fix included.

Note: this modact has a tiny bug in the sound of the I151,153, some I16s and the Hs129. If you are using the SAS soundmod (or another specialised soundmod pack) with this, you will (or should) be fine, but otherwise, if you have a problem with engine sound with any of these, here is the simple fix:

Go into your files folder, and open presets/sounds. Find the file named motor.M-62_engine.prs
make a copy of it, name the copy motor.M-62_Series.prs


Note: How to fix Ranks or Awards that appear in Russian:
Navigate to your Missions/Campaigns folder, and find the folder of the country which info apears in Russian.
Inside, find the ".properties" file for rank or awards. There will be several of each, they are all for different languages of the game. the ones with an "_ru" on the name, are for the russian version of the game. Your game is reading those instead of the english ones. Find the english ones, (they have no "_ru" or "_pl" or anything) and paste their contents into the russian files, replacing what is there. So your game will continue to read the russian file, but the russian file will contain english ranks or awards .

Hello, I'm also a beginner on Il2 and modding them. I will thanks SAS to bring this tool. It's very useful.

I have a question, to use mods the DF server must to be also moded (Zuti MDS in example).
How  DF server can be activated ??

I know UP20 is a great pack, but i don't need tons of mods and Gb at the moment. I'm starting with IL2 and only need to try MDS mod.

great work on this

just a quick question: is this mod activator ok for online play if i use online buttons file? as i really don't want to cheat, but at the same time i'd love some mods like new planes (which i see on many servers an can only fly in external view), as well as getting some custom effects into game

Sorry people it's me again. I used the SAS MOD Activator 2.2 to enable the mod for Bf-109 cockpit. When I go online to play over hyper lobby the people tell me that I have smoke behind me. Is it because of the SAS activator or the MOD? Thank you. I'm really new at all the moding stuff and am not quite sure how it works.

you cannot play online with this.
Sorry but I made these only for offline use , so I would have no idea.


if you want to play online, play without mods. if you want to play online with mods, download and use UltraPack 2.0.

and then you can choose the SAS modact for unmodded game, or you can grab UP20 for a complete pack, which we recommend

Here's a stock buttons file but you won't be able to fly the extra mod planes.

It got rid of the mixture trails when flying online. I haven't noticed any errors with it, but it will revert to stock prs files so it could switch your sounds around depending on how you have them set up.

I use it just to have 6dof and a clean version of 4.09m.

The mod activator contains new sounds. But is there a way to have only the mod activator and not the new sounds?

it does not contain new sounds. It uses the default game sounds.
